Vismaya Yoga Bhumika: Wonder the foundation to Spirituality

•This discovery of our divinity is wonderment.

•We are not ordinary human beings with an occasional spiritual experience but

•spiritual beings who have forgotten who we are

    To Remember

•Seeing higher lokas is not important part of Vishwaroopa Darshanam

•Higher lokas will not guarantee liberation

•More important in Vishwaroopa darshanam is not seeing extra-ordinary thing

•Seeing the ordinary world itself as the Vishwaroopam, the body of Ishwara

•The manner of seeing is highlighted

    23. Oh Lord! People are frightened by seeing your huge form which has many mouths and eyes, which has many arms , thighs and feet, which has many abdomens , and which is fierce with many tusks; so also am I ( frightened )

    Verse 11.32

    Kala Tatvam

•Kala tatva has both creative and destructive powers

•It is the destructive aspect of Kala, which is prominent here

•In this verse, Krishna is answering to Arjuna’s question “Who are You?”

•Krishna says , I am the Kala Tatvam, which is the integral part of the relative world

•The 2 planes of reality are

    1) Vyavaharika Sathyam

    2) Paramarthika Sathyam

    Two Planes of Reality

In Vyavaharika Sathyam the time principle is integral, intrinsic, inherent aspect, where everything will have a corresponding opposite

    •Arrival - Departure

    •Birth - Death

    •Growth - Decay

    •Union - Disassociation

•You have only one choice- The whole thing to be accepted as one piece as Divine or reject the whole thing

In Paramarthika Sathyam there is no time or space, no pairs of Opposites

    •No Dharma and Adharma

    •No Good and Bad

    •No Birth and Death

•Therefore either vote for Paramarthika and reject the Vyavaharika or learn to accept Vyavaharika totally. You can’t take just one side.

•So Krishna says Vyavaharika Drishtya I am Kala Tatvam. But Paramarthika Drishtya I am Kalatita Tatva.

•As Kala Tatvam I have 2 fold functions i.e. Creating and destroying

    38. You are the primal God, the ancient Purusha, you are the supreme ground of dissolution of this Universe. You are the knower, the known as well as the abode which is beyond (both). The universe is pervaded by You, Oh! Lord with endless forms!

    Verse 11.54

    bhaktyā tvananyayā śakyam ahamēvaṃvidhō'rjuna |

    jñātuṃ draṣṭuṃ ca tattvēna

    pravēṣṭuṃ ca parantapa || 11.54 ||

    54. Oh Arjuna! However, by undivided devotion I can be seen in this form, known truly, and merged into Oh Arjuna!

    WHAT TYPE OF BAKTHI?

    •Krishna says “ANANYA BAKTHI”

We know that there are 3 levels of bhakti

    1] ARTAH

    2]ARTARTHI {1&2 are level 1}

God as the means and worldly accomplishments as the end

    3]JIGNASUH {level 2}

God - not as a means, but as the end itself.

    4]JNANI {level 3}

God – none other than myself

    ANANYA BAKTHI – Undivided Devotion

With Atma Anatma Viveka the world

becomes the means and God the end. Since

one always has thoughts rooted on the end,

he is focused on God always.

This is Jijnasu bhakti or Mumukshutvam or ANANYA BHAKTI

This bhakti facilitates VISHVA ROOPA DARSHANAM

    “AHAM BRAHMA ASMI”

Krishna says that in due course an Ananya Bhakta will know the LORD AS HIS REAL NATURE. It is neither the sādanām nor sādyam; neither the means nor the end, but the Lord is, ‘I’ myself - AHAM BRAHMA ASMI

TATVENA DRUSHTUM means ADVAITA JNANAM PRAPTUM

Through this knowledge the devotee MERGES WITH THE LORD. The wisdom that the Lord is never different from me and the notion of division is removed.

    MERGES=IKYAM=JEEVATMA PARAMATMA IKYAM

    This is a mahavakyam

sarvabhūteṣu and who is free from hatred towards all एत माम ् eti mām reaches Me

    पाण्ड pāṇḍava oh Arjuna

    55. He who does works for Me, who is My devotee, who keeps Me as the supreme

goal! who is free from attachment, and who is free from hatred towards all,

    reaches me, Oh Arjuna!

    vyavasāyātmikā buddhirēkēha kurunandana|

    bahuśākhā hyanantāśca buddhayō'vyavasāyinām || 2.41 ||

Oh Arjuna! (There is only) one clear understanding in this field. However, the

notions of those without clarity are many branched and endless.

    This Very Body the Buddha

•ALL BEINGS ARE FROM THE VERY BEGINNING BUDDHA.

•IT IS LIKE WATER AND ICE:

    •APART FROM WATER, NO ICE,

    •OUTSIDE LIVING BEINGS, NO BUDDHAS.

•NOT KNOWING IT IS NEAR, THEY SEEK IT AFAR.

    •WHAT A PITY!

    •IT IS LIKE ONE IN THE WATER WHO CRIES OUT FOR THIRST;

•IT IS LIKE THE CHILD OF A RICH HOUSE

•WHO HAS STRAYED AWAY AMONG THE POOR.

This very place the Golden Paradise

•THE CAUSE OF OUR CIRCLING THROUGH THE SIX WORLDS

•IS THAT WE ARE ON THE DARK PATHS OF IGNORANCE.

•DARK PATH UPON DARK PATH TREADING,

•WHEN SHALL WE ESCAPE FROM BIRTH-AND-DEATH?

•ALL COME BACK TO THE PRACTICE OF MEDITATION

•BY THE MERIT OF A SINGLE SITTING

    •HE DESTROYS INNUMERABLE ACCUMULATED SINS

•HOW SHOULD THERE BE WRONG PATHS FOR HIM?

Love is my message – let it be your message too. Osho

    •Love is the only religion

•Love is the only substantial thing in life, all else is illusion

    • Let love grow in you and God will be growing on its own accord

•If you miss love you will miss God and all

•There is no way to God without love

•God can be forgotten – if love is remembered, God will happen as a consequence

    • It is the fragrance of love and nothing else

There is no God but only Godliness.

There is no person like God anywhere

Drop all childish attitudes, don’t go on searching for a Father

    Divineness is, God is not

When I say divineness is, I mean whatsoever Is, is full of God

The green of the trees, and the red and the golden sky – all is divine

    Nothing else exists

’Where is God?’ is a wrong question.

Because God cannot be indicated anywhere

He is not in a particular direction

He is not a particular thing,

    God is universality.

Ask where God is not, then you have asked the right question

But for that right question you will have to prepare the soil of your heart

That’s what I mean by love– preparing the soil of your heart

If you are full of love, the world is full of God

Fill the whole world with love

    •Let that be our religion

    • In love you disappear your mind disappears

    • In love you come to an utter relaxation

    • There is nothing higher than love

A seed is very small, but if you allow passage to it to your heart, it can become a great tree

•It can become a Bodhi tree – it will have great foliage and much shade and thousands of people can sit and rest underneath it

    •See: I have become a tree

    • You are the people who have come to make their nests on my tree

    • You can also become this

    • Everybody SHOULD become this – because unless you become this you will go on missing your fulfilment

    You must grow and bloom

•Unless you become a great tree– you will remain in discontent

•Anguish will go on gnawing in your heart, misery will linger around you

•Bliss will be only a word signifying nothing

    • God will be just gibberish

•When you have fulfilment then there is grace and then there is God

    • In your fulfilment you come to realize the benediction of existence

    Share your Understanding.

•Buddha: SABBA DANAM DHAMMA DANANA JNATI –

•The gift of truth excels all other gifts

    Hakuin’s song of Silence

•Hakuin’s song is so small and yet so vast

    • It is unbelievable how can a man condense so much truth and so much love and so much insight into so few words?

•But Hakuin was a man of few words, a man of silence

•For years he would not speak at all, and then he would speak a word or two

•Once the Emperor of Japan invited him to deliver a sermon in the palace

Hakuin came, stood there for a single moment, looked around, and left the hall. He personified silence.

•The king was puzzled. He asked his prime minister,

    • ’What is the Matter with this man? We had come to listen.’

•The old prime minister said, ’This is the greatest sermon that I have ever heard on silence .

    • He has taught it! He stood there in silence, he WAS Silence

•He was pure Silence, standing there for those few seconds. He was utter Silence. He was Silence, throbbing, pulsating

•But you were looking to hear some words.’

Buddha says: My approach to reality is not of belief but of seeing. ’IHI PASSIKA: Come and see.’ Not as ’Come and believe.’

•’Come and see: IHI PASSIKA.’ It is here, present – you just come and see

•He does not require you to believe

•He is the only great teacher in the world who dropped belief – and with dropping belief he transformed religion

•He says: See, and there is no need to believe

    • And when you have seen then it will not be a belief, it will be knowing

In this song of Hakuin you will see the way of seeing – how to open the eyes. Because truth is always there, has been always there.

•It is not that the truth has to be produced. Buddha says:

•YATHA BHUTAM – It is! It is already there, it is confronting you!

    • It is in the east, it is in the west, it is in the north, it is in the south. It surrounds you – it is without and it is within.

    • But you will have to see it: IHI PASSIKA.

•Your eyes are closed, you have forgotten how to open them.

    • Meditation is the art of opening your eyes. The art of cleansing your eyes. the art of dropping the dust that has gathered on the mirror of your consciousness.

The mirror of Consciousness is covered by dust.

•But the mirror is still there – it cannot be lost, because it is your very nature. If it can be lost then it will not be your nature

    • It is not that you have a mirror: you ARE the mirror

•At the most, forgetfulness. You have not lost your Buddhahood

•Buddha hood means the mirror, clean of dust

•Buddha hood means a consciousness which has become awakened

    • The sleep is no more and the dreams are no more and the desires have disappeared

    • Avidya Kama Karma
