In Quiz - Q/A
Ques from a participant, Mrs. Anu Kulkarni Hello Dr. Satya, in yesterday's quiz I had difficulty understanding why the Bhagavad Geeta is Smriti. If it is easy enough to explain, could you please clarify. I appreciate the quiz since it is gradually deepening my understanding of this sacred scripture. 💐 Reply from Dr. Satyanarayana 'Shruti' is product of divine revelation- apaurusheya- and Vedas are considered under this 'Smriti' is 'recollection' of concepts already presented in and agrees with 'Shruti'. It is established that the same God who spoke the Veda in the beginning of creation subsequently came down and preached this Smriti. It was first told to Sun God, subsequently to next generations through Manu and Isvaku. Gita is a part of Mahabharata and it is recollection, therefore Smriti. Pls refer to verse 4.1 and Prasthāna trayam for more details.

When we have faith in God’s Omnipresence, Omnipotence, and Omniscience, the question naturally arises that why God could not have made the World in a perfect way without any trace of Kama, Krodha, Moha, Loba, Madha, and Matcharyam. Don’t you agree that the World as we see as it’s inhabitants waging wars on some pretext or the other unmindful of loss of life, loss of property and above all levels loss of humanness...an imperfect World. How can a Perfect God’s Creation - the World Humanity, can render itself to be IMPERFECT - with flaws, blemishes, incongruities, corrupted, and tainted? Can you contemplate on this and share your thoughts?
