    Atma Gyanam and looking inwards?

    in Discussion and feedback

If Atma is present everywhere, why does Vedanta teach us to look inwards for Atma Gyanam. Why can't we get this Gyanam by looking outside, as Atma is there everywhere?

Look "inward" means focus on "subject" (which is the "saakshi".)

(Don't look "outword" means "objects"). Pot and mud analogy.

I think, looking inward does not mean literally inward. Brahman is all pervading, yes, it also means it is your essence. This is inward - look at your essence.

As opposed to “outward “ - which means all objects that are recorded by your sense organs, mind.....
